	Kyoshi Gravelin holds a 7th degree black belt in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, a 5th degree black belt in Ryukyu Kobudo Weaponry, as well as a 3rd degree black belt in Jujitsu. He recieved the title of "Kyoshi," meaning teacher of teachers, in 2000. He has been studying karate in the United States and Japan (Okinawa) for over 25 years, and teaching professionally for 20. He is also a student of ChiYui Judo and Yoshinkai Aikido.

	My name is James. I am 41 years old. I’ve been involved in martial arts for 4 years. I’m a 3^rd Kyu brown belt and on the demo team. I specialize in board and brick breaking. A long term goal of mine is to one day teach karate because I enjoy working with people.
My name is Samantha. I’m almost 18 years old and I have my 1^st degree blackbelt in Shorin-Ryu and my 3^rd Kyu Brown belt in Ryukyu Kobudo weaponry. I’ve been in karate for 4 years. I recently graduated from Cedar Springs High School and I plan to continue training in martial arts during and maybe even after college because it is not only very rewarding, but it is also a lot of fun!
	My name is Justin. I am 14 years old and have been doing karate for 10 years. I got my junior black belt when I was 9, and am testing for my adult balck belt in August. My dad is Kyoshi Gravelin, the owner and operator of the school. I attend Tri-County Middle School and am in the 8^th grade. In my time not spent dong homework or practicing, I enjoy playing video games and playing outside as long as it’s warm weather.
Hello, my name is Austin. I am a first Kyu Brown Belt and I am 13 years old. I enjoy training at American Martial Arts Institute and I would like to become a world champion kickboxer.
	My name is Nico. I am 11 years old. I received my Jr. Blackbelt at 9 years old. I have been on the Demo team for 3 years now. I started karate when I was 4. I like to compete in tournaments and won 1^st in the state for continuous sparring. I attend Creative Technologies Academy and am in the 5^th grade. I also study Kobudo weapons.
Hi, my name is Jeanette. I am 11 years old. I attend Cedar Springs public schools. I have my black belt in the Universal Shorin-Ryu system. I like karate because it keeps me fit and in shape. I also like to play basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball. I have a lot of fun when doing martial arts.
	My name is Lane. I am 10 years old. I am a black belt in karate. I have been in karate for 4 years. I received my black belt in November of 2006. I am a 4^th grader at MacNaughten School in Howard City. When I am not doing karate I enjoy dirt bike riding. I also play electric guitar. I am a member of the karate demo team. I take advanced karate class and train in weapons.
Hello, my name is Roland. I’m a brown belt and have been in karate for three years. When I started karate, I promised myself I wouldn’t quit unless I was a black belt. The reason I like karate is because it keeps me healthy. I never really knew how fun it would be before I started. I’m not in any other sports right now but once I was in soccer. I’m nine years old.

I like to be on the Demo Team because I feel special and I like showing people what we’ve learned. I want people to know what karate is all about. It’s about self-defense, focus, concentration, effort and doing things right. I’ve met a lot of people and made a lot fo friends. I have a lot of fun at American Martial Arts.
My name is Phoenix. I am 8 years old. I go to American Martial Arts Institute in Cedar Springs. I am a green belt. I like tournaments. My favorite thing to do in tournaments is sparring. I go to Valley View Elementary School and I’m in the 2^nd grade.
	Hi, everyone calls me AJ. I’ve been studying martial arts for almost 3 years and I am the newest member of the Firestorm team. I am currently an orange belt and my favorite move is the jump kick and my favorite weapon is the nunchaku.
